Big Ideas, Real Impact.

We offer several programs to help residents get back into the workforce.

Job site training, Culinary Classes, Job Placement Programs, GED Prep, and many more!!!

Culinary Classes

At Horizon Recovery, our culinary classes provide residents with practical cooking skills that promote independence, confidence, and healthy living. Participants learn food safety, meal planning, kitchen organization, proper food handling, basic nutrition, budgeting for groceries, and preparation of a variety of meals. Residents also gain hands-on experience through meal preparation and kitchen operations, helping them develop valuable skills that can be used at home, in everyday life, or as a foundation for future employment opportunities in the food service industry. These classes are designed to encourage responsibility, teamwork, and self-sufficiency while demonstrating that healthy, affordable meals can be prepared and enjoyed in recovery.

GED Course Prep

At Horizon Recovery, we believe education can be a powerful tool for rebuilding lives. Our GED preparation program is designed to help residents strengthen academic skills, increase self-confidence, and work toward earning their high school equivalency credential. Participants receive support in subjects such as mathematics, reading, writing, science, and social studies while developing study habits, goal-setting skills, and personal discipline. Whether completing an unfinished educational goal or preparing for future employment, vocational training, or higher education, GED preparation provides residents with an opportunity to invest in their future and create new pathways for long-term success.

Serv Safe Courses

Horizon Recovery offers opportunities for residents to pursue ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Manager training, helping them develop industry-recognized credentials that can enhance future employment opportunities. Through this program, residents learn essential food safety principles, proper sanitation procedures, temperature control, contamination prevention, personal hygiene standards, and safe food preparation practices. Earning a ServSafe certification not only provides valuable workforce skills but also promotes responsibility, professionalism, and confidence while preparing residents for careers in food service, hospitality, and related industries.

On Site Church Service / Speakers

At Horizon Recovery, we recognize that faith can play an important role in the recovery journey for many individuals. Residents have opportunities to participate in voluntary church services, Bible studies, faith-based fellowship, and spiritual growth activities that encourage hope, healing, and personal transformation. We respect each resident's individual beliefs and understand that recovery is a personal journey; participation in religious activities is always voluntary. For those who choose to engage, church services provide a supportive environment to strengthen faith, build positive relationships, find encouragement, and develop a deeper sense of purpose while pursuing long-term recovery.
